The kind of market that separates traders from spectators is taking shape

Strategy and Tactics and MarketMap™ are in the pipeline, along with their respective individual trade recommendations and forecasts and analysis.

There is little or no concern about latency in trading tactics and strategy. The primary focus is on asymmetrical setups.

It has always been a long-standing premise that the market will make an important top on good news, and what better economic news can you have than falling unemployment? Obviously, the market did not like that and feared no rate cuts, escalating that into possible rate hikes, showing how interest-rate sensitive this market is. That is how the rationale went, and we have been intimating that for several weeks, given that any time there was a spike in interest rates, gold would go down, which is counterintuitive for that particular hard asset, along with silver and copper.

The forecasting or discounting concern was that the strong economy would cause higher interest rates, thus causing an economic slowdown. Hence, sellers sweep into the market. Well, we like the surprise and we like the decline. What we do not like is how everybody, including the big-name publishers, jumped all over it to claim the fame. We do not think it is that easy in the sense that everybody was seemingly waiting around for the all-important top to come in to jump in and help level the playing field. All of which can turn out to be a lot of wishful thinking.

What is most critical from a moneymaking point of view is not whether or not the nominal price high is in, but whether or not we are going to see a pro-directional move in the averages and in select ETFs or sectors, as well as a spike in long volatility that we can take advantage of, because such a condition provides us with asymmetrical trading opportunities. The timing of all that is clear now to ContraryThinker. We will be accenting that in all of our publications, just not today but throughout the week. Exciting times.

What Comes Next Is the Part That Pays

Timing windows are lining up. The analysis is being published now across MarketMap™ Weekly, and the 2026 Scenario Planner change of trend (COT) date maps. Markets that looked like noise last week are starting to resolve into recognizable market structure, and that is where the money is.

The next several sessions are going to separate the people who were positioned from the people who were just watching.
